This song was inspired by a message by Lori Salierno. She has managed to get into the public school system, and this ministry is making a real difference. The night I heard the Saliernos speak, Mr. Salierno started off by telling us about the miraculous way God was changing lives through his homeless ministry in Atlanta. He told of multiple attempts that had been taken on his life. He held a bag of knives that he said were dropped in front of him upon finding out they would not pierce his skin. Mr. Salierno then turned attention to his wife, who challenged us to break out of our cocoons. I was so inspired. I spent most of the night in tears. I kept asking myself, “What’s the difference between me and them?” After a lot of thought, I decided it was the fact that they did and I did not. I asked myself over and over again, “What are you waiting for?” I have since found this to be a question tailor made for my generation. I hope that this song will inspire you who hear it to ask yourselves the same question. I keep hearing men and women of God say, “I don’t know what God wants me to do.” The answer for us all is obedience—obedience in the things you know He wants you to do, those basics of the faith. Perhaps soon, He will reveal a specific plan that is meant just for you. But until that day, we can all be busy with spreading the gospel. Break out of your cocoon. What are you waiting for?
